The first name 莲花 could be nice.
Do you think that is very funny? _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I love inside you everyone else. I love the whole world because of you. I also love myself inside you" |

Lotus Flower? Do you pronounce it "Lian Hua"? I think it sounds pretty.
BTW, Lian sounds like Leanne which is also a female name in English. |

lotus flower is a great nick for girls, but it isn't a formal name. and yes, it pronounces LianHua sounds like a shy girl, very cute.
I still think RedRose is a great name before I was born, my mom always dreamed of lots of red roses. so mom named me that way. but later my mom said:"I regret when I named you like that. red rose is pretty, but it's thorny."
Bob, if you name your daughter RedRose, then she would be an eye candy, with her international background. |

Yeah, mixed race people can be very attractive. They say that is why Russian women are so beautiful, a blend of European and Asian.
But, grrr no father wants to think of his little princess as eye candy, even if she is. When she reaches dating age, I gotta buy a shotgun. Keep those lecherous teenage boys away from her!

Bob, you must be an over-protecting dad. I recall, when I was a teenager, my parents refrained me from contacting with boys, just like you therefore, I daren't date any boy during my high school years! and that's a complete pity! |

Darn straight I'll be strict!!! But I will let her date when she is 16 with certain rules:
1. No dating college boys while she is still in high school. As a guy, I know why they want a younger girl, and I will not allow it.
2. He must treat her with respect. No pulling up in his car and honking the horn expecting her to come running out to meet him. He must come up to the door if he is going to call on her for a date. And I want to know where they are going, whom they will be with, and when they will be back.
3. Any boy who wishes to date her must meet me and ask permission. If he is afraid to meet me, then there's probably a good reason why I wouldn't want him dating my daughter.
4. If his d!ck gets anywhere near her, I will kill him is such a horrible way, Saddam Hussein, the Butcher of Baghdad, would flinch in disgust.
But I would allow group dates to the Disneyland in Anaheim which is just 50km from where I live. |

Come on! Bob, you live in US! which is a free country~! and American teenagers are very independent compared to Asian ones. I guess maybe your daughter won't completely listen to you when she grows up. look at me, I used to live under my parents' control, and I felt very depressed. I finally ran off from my parents to the strange city, from then on, I have made decisions myself and that's definitely fantastic! freedom is what kids want.

I wonder what the boy's father will do if her ____ (synonym of cat) gets close to him (and I am not joking, girls nowadays are just as aggressive as boys)
But seriously, as much as we'd like to think high school kids aren't having sex, we are not only wrong, but junior high kids are really starting to now. Who knows what it will be like in a decade or two (that's when I have to start worrying) but the only thing we can do is educate our children, set good examples and hope they do right.
Look how much society has changed in just 20 years. Maybe they will VR (virtual reality) sexrooms where everything would be 100% safe ??? _________________ I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Ain't it the truth. It's about trying to be a parent (as opposed to your child's buddy) and teaching them self-respect. If a girl acts like a whore, guys will treat her like a whore, and no male human ever truly respects or loves a whore. They exist for one purpose.
But a girl who has self respect and demands to be treated with respect, well, she may not be popular with a lot of guys, but the miniscule fraction of males that actually find respectability attractive in a young lady will naturally be decent and respectable young men themselves.
This is not just about raising children. It is also about preparing the ground for raising grandchildren (since our daughters will eventually chose respectable young men to be the fathers of their children or not).

I doubt I could be a hand of cold hard iron to control my kid. My bark is worse than my bite. In all honesty, I'm more of a big softy. I would hope to be a hand of soft but strong warm leather rather than cold iron.
What are you with your daughter? Cold iron? Soft strong leather? Weak tissue? In your opinion, what should a parent be?

I agree if your daughter is dressing like a whore, something does have to be done. Hopefully, with enough guidance before though, that won't happen.
I could never do the iron fist, but I also don't think the current parenting strategies prevalent among younger parents now are very smart. The whole give them a choice thing and treat them like adults is not very smart. That is why we don't call them "young adults", we call them "children". |
