now you are in USA to study, are your classmates all american students? i think you must have maken a lot of new friends there, so great. what state is your school in? do you have snow there?

last year's summer vacation, i went to a camp in New Hampshire to do part-time job for 2 and half months, after that i went to travel in Boston for 5 days, New York for 5 days. i like boston very much, there people are very laid-back, drivers are very polite to passers-by, and buildings are very beautiful. is there any city you like in USA?

maken > made

Year, My classmates are all american students except imigrants and other exchange students. I'm doing my best to make friends, but it's still hard. I need to make more friends. I go to the school in Oregon. I heard it's usually cold here. But it has not snowed in here so far.

How was New Hampshire?? Oregon is also very beautiful state. I went to the Portaland, it's the biggest town in Oregon, before. That was so nice city.
I want to go to the NY, Boston, or somewhere in east coast. But I have no money to go there. Sad

this Monday i went to お台場(o daiba) with friend. i was surprised the tram could pass through the rainbow bridge, and the nightview there was very beautiful, i even could see the brighting tokyo-tower Very Happy

by the way, i want to ask you, now i'm considering to buy a cell phone, but i think i dont call other people very much, just want to have a number.in japan, do you have " pre-paid cellphone?" it means i dont have to pay monthly rent fee, just buy a cellphone and prepay some money, and when the calling time is out, just store some money in it. where can i buy this kind of cellphone in japan? Shocked

really? I've never been to "o daiba". How was it?? were many people in there??
People are using a cellphone usually with monthly payment. And there were many murder case using "pre-paid cellphone" before. and it was very hard to serch the information of "pre-paid cellphone". so now, pre-paid cellphone is not popular. actually, i've never seen a pre-paid cellphone in Japan.Surprised But i'm sure there is pre-paid cellphone in japan.

thanks for your reply. i think i would buy a regular cellphone, coz it's hard to find the pre-paid phone, i think.

Oregon, i've never been to west america. i check the map, Oregon is on the north of califonia. have you ever been there? i remember there is a disney land in califonia, right? i want to go to tokyo disney land during my japan life Very Happy

since there are many american classmates in your class, i thought you have got a lot of american friends, why you look like you are hard to get one? your situation is different from mine. i study in japan, but no japanese friends in my class, most of them are coming from china, and most of roommates in dorm are from taiwan, so i hardly have opportunity to practice japanese after class. i think you have to use english all day, right?

I think it hard to get regular cellphone, too.
nop, ive never been there.
it's not hard to get friend in here.
i don't have a best friend yet, though.
If everyone in the class is not Japanese, you can go to college as an exchange student, i think.
and you should not be with your foreign friend long time.
cuz if you are in the group, no one will care about you.
and forget about your country, and try to be Japanese.
i think that the best way to learn language.
and if you can, you should not speak your own language at all.
that's how i'm trying to do in U.S.

bye

Yes, being an exchange student is difficult!
You get a lot of practice speaking another language.
But friends are hard to make because of language barriers.
Are there many Japanese people at your school, yasu?
There are only 2 at mine, so practicing Japanese is hard.
