Oh, you're totally right, Anuradha. But, in a rough manner, I'd put things in a kind of scale:

Better way to raise kids: a married couple who respect themselves and their children;

Intermediary way: single mother/father who respects his/her children.

Worst way: a married couple who disrespect themselves and their children;

But I'm assuming that a good marriage not necessary asks for being eternally in "love" with your partner (you guys know what I mean by love. . . ).
