I agree. I think the Chinese Taoists were known to do that a long time ago, at least that's what I've read, as well as some Chinese Buddhists. Then again, Buddhism is influenced by Hinduism, and Taoism has that "laisser faire" attitude to be in sync with nature. I also kind of want to do that when I get old, once I've experienced the ups and downs of life, just go on a journey, see the world in a whole different perspective and feel grateful for being alive to experience the world, and leaving it satisfied.
