Hello!
i LOVE this Munch's painting!! this little picture on this forum is not very representative, but I ove this painting...
I can give you a key to understand a little better Picasso, with paintings in which "the eye is not at the right place etc".. Actually, the contemporary artists are trying to find new way to do art (not especailly for paintings, this is available for every kind of art), and what Picasso did is represent something or someone as they are.. exactly as they are... when we look something or someone, whe don't see it or him/her as they are, but just a face. Picasso draw everything that make this thing that special thing and not another one, that person this one and not another one. I think that' so fascinating...
The point with contmeporary art is if you want to understand, you'll understand, and finally you'll love it... So i hope my little message wasn't boring for you and I agree with CP, just watch (the real one, it's better, but if you cannot, find a good picture!) , without thinking I don't like it, and let you being touched by art. art for me is feelings.
byebye!

I agree with what CP and Pommezani told about art works. however, maybe I just have a big lack of appreciating art work, so I can still see nothing on Picasso's paintings except boobs and some twisted, nonobjective things.
It is said that Picasso had explored women with his entire life, and all his feelings of art-creating were from women. he had enjoyed a lot of mistresses in his life, maybe that's why his works are full of boobs and naked bodies. lucky man!
Sorry, I am an art illiteracy, so I can just tell what I found from an art work. I still have a hard time to understand Picasso's art works, and other art works of other artists too. |

thanks beancurdturtle, I also thought whether it is, but the painting doesn't look good to my mind, I prefer that mask. |
The series is more than just that one painting. The artist did a similar image in different media - there are pastels, woodblock cuts, and more. _________________ Daniel
