My most favourite book is (translated from German) "Physics for scientists and ingenieurs" by Paul A.Tipler and Gene Mosca. A very interesting book with 1388 pages. I'm not completely through it yet. |

Ok, so are you a rich girl? |
Why? |
Because Dream of the Red Mansion is the title. The idiomatic meaning carried by the term "red mansion" is related to the daughters of rich men. _________________ Daniel

You know so much about Chinese classical literature! that's incredible!!
Back to the topic: No, I am not rich
Turtle, have you read the dream of red mansion? just one thing confused me a lot: JiaBaoYu was a sissy guy, wasn't he? then how come so many beautiful girls were in love with him? He wasn't charming!
What do you think? |

I have not read it.
But it would be unusual for women to be in love with a sissy guy who was not charming. Especially in ancient China where power, respect, and money were so important. What was the sissy guy's position in society?
Maybe if he was a poet or scholar he could get one or two romantic minded ladies, but if it was not a peasant woman that would be unusual. Educated women were as good or better at politics and intrigue as the men back then.
Maybe the author was a sissy guy and wrote the story in wishful thinking. _________________ Daniel

No, JiaBaoYu wasn't a poet nor a scholar!! he was just a sissy man! however, he was a son of a rich officer, maybe that's the reason why those girls loved him. but it's still beyond my imagination
I wouldn't be in love with any sissy guy, even though he is very rich.

hahaha!! you crack me up too! but yes, maybe ChaoXueQin was a sissy guy. and reportedly, he had the similar experience like JiaBaoYu's. |

The book on the very right is my favourite book. _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I also love everyone else inside you, I love the whole world because of you, I also love myself inside you." -- Erich Fromm, the Art of Love |

but it's really very profound, like redrose says. And it tells nearly everything about the basical physics, like electricity, mechanics, mechanical vibration and waves, thermodynamics, light radiation, nuclear sciece and atoms, and maybe more. _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I also love everyone else inside you, I love the whole world because of you, I also love myself inside you." -- Erich Fromm, the Art of Love |

Yes more:
Yin / Yang
Matter / Anti-matter
But that may be a silly fantasy. _________________ Daniel

maybe not Yin/Yang (this is a technical book) _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I also love everyone else inside you, I love the whole world because of you, I also love myself inside you." -- Erich Fromm, the Art of Love |

well...
Yin /Yang are/is a bit technical at the fundamental level of their meaning in Daoist philosophy - correlating highly to the opposing and complementary energies that hold an atom together.
It's Daoism the Religion that abstracts them into something else. _________________ Daniel

I though it meant positive/negative.
sometimes when I read Yin / Yang, I just think about Men/Women. |

Yin / Yang
Female /Male
Earth / Heaven
Moon / Sun
Water / Fire
Conservation / Destruction
But you are right in the sense that Matter / Antimatter doesn't quite fit metaphorically as it is defined in particle physics.
Basic Daoist principles say that every one of the "ten thousand things" ("everything" in English) comes into being through a bifurcation of the energy of the Dao (the original singularity). Everything is an expression of the Dao through a balance of the bifurcated yin and yang energies that both oppose and attract one another. Oddly similar to some fundamental principles of nuclear physics.
Anyway, this balance of yin and yang energies is the balance or "harmony" of nature. The objective for people is to express balance and harmony in life and actions - living in accordance with nature.
Pretty simple. But maybe too deep for this thread. _________________ Daniel
