This post makes me think of a documentary I've recently watched that was about the number of Oriental women that submmit themselves to plastic surgery in order to have more "Ocidental features" (whatever it is. . .). I really don't understand why so many of them are disatisfied with the way they look, since they're so beautiful.

Recently the Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro, who had a small part in the remake of "Charlie's Angels", was asked by J Soares (Brazilian talk show host) who among the three actors of the movie (Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, and Cameron Diz) was the most beautiful. Rodrigo did not even hesitate to say it was Lucy Liu. . . .

And most Chinese I know think that Lucy Liu is unattractive - because she has a face full of freckles.

Does she? I've never noticed!

In Brazil, freckles are considered charming.

I don't think she looks good, but not because of freckles (besides, I don't think she has freckles)

Her face is a bit too slim and too long in my opinion

I like sweet girls more, not so old-looking

but in this photo she really looks good, so maybe it's only a thing about different angles

Freckles:

I think freckles are charming too.

ad-miral - she is younger and has more weight on her face in the photo you prefer.

She's ok in American born Chinese style. I also like her Phoenix eyes.

I prefer Classic Han Chinese beauty,

I second that Exclamation

I think she's beautiful. But I agree that in the pictures she's thinner she is looking very strange. . . it's a pity that nowadays people are so crazy about getting thin.

In Brazil, everybody is concerned about weight. Women do everything to get thiner and thiner. . . but curiously, most men seem to prefer ladies with more "substance", if you get what I mean. . . some examples follow:

This is Miss Sheila Carvalho, a famous dancer who was elected the most beautiful Brazilian woman by a "men's magazine" (I don't know the right expression for this in English).

This is Miss Juliana Paes, an "actress" who became famous because of her ENORMOUS. . . talent:

Last but not least, the avarage Brazilian women (with no photoshop!):

In the USA they would probably be considered fat, but in Brazil they're "Divas". . .
