I think it isn't right of your parents to order when you ought to marry. Even though they just want the best having a sense of responsibilty and wanting to care for you, you are nevertheless old enough and apart from that, your parents actually can't force you to marry.

they didn't obviously force me, they just gave me some invisible pressure, you knew, under that pressure, it was hard NOT to get married.

I agree with you.My parents have dropped a hint on me.In their opinion,I am old enough to have a boyfirend. I konw that they love me,all they do is for me .But it is not simple.I want a boyfirend that I love, that I can give my soul to him.But it seems that they don't understand me.This is a typical chinese family.

I begrudge you! Although I am far away from my parents ,but it don't prevent they to talk to me again and again!Perhaps I should go to abbey and devote myself to God!

There is no one can force you to get marry..
You did not understand what pinkhair said. he means that our parents here in the gulf (I will specify) will not let us still single for long time.
Our parents want to see our children before they died. they wish to see our children before they get old and became tired so, they can not play with them(child and grand pa,ma).
Also they want to see them in the upbringing period.

even though statistics show that early marriage leads to early divorce.

Sorry
I am not agree with you..
You think people who get married early, will divorce early.
That is not true
Look, here in my country (UAE) most of emirates people get married in age of 20+I think this age is too early to get married
But the statistics shows that the average of married people is more than divorced.

In the gulf, our parents do not accept the idea of love. The relation between a man and a woman before getting married is not acceptable.
The Islam forbids such thing. In the Islam the relation between a man and a woman, have to be after getting married. That is the allowable relation is after marriage and in the engagement period.
