Is BIG cop out to say I hate America but I love Americans.
Who is it that made the America you say you hate?
It is Americans.
Also in Canada your prosperity is absolutely dependent on America, so you are not thinking clearly, or you are hypocrite.

Ok, for pugachevV ,

Let me rephrase. I like almost all common Americans I have met. If I met one of the religious, moronic fanatics currently running the White House, I probably wouldn't. I'm not saying Americans are perfect, but to hate someone you have never met just because of where they were born is known as a racist. Some Americans have caused all of America's current problems, while some haven't.
By the way, Canada's prosperity is not absolutely dependent on America. I am guessing you don't really have a lot of information about the two countries. If America fell somehow now, Canada would be hurt bad. But we are starting to wean ourselves off of America now. But we are not "absolutely" dependent. We do have the most drinking water and oil in the world. Also, with global warming, the northwest passage will become more important (as opposed to Panama). We will never be a super power, but if our government was smarter, we could become quite independent.

How does Canada have the most oil in the world? Just curious. Anyway, as for the original question, I enjoy the animation and comics that come out of Japan, and they've made me interested in the country and its culture. I also study the language. Of course, Japan has its share of problems, just like any other country--war is inherently inhuman, and it's not like the US has a clean record either. Those from Japan would certainly understand.

In Alberta there is massive untapped reserves of oil in the sands there. The problem is while we can get the oil out of the sand, it is very costly and slow. But technology is getting better and they are becoming able to get it out more cost-effectively now. Last(this) year, the US government put out their list of the top oil producers in the world. Canada jumped from 20th place to 2nd place (under Saudi Arabia) (it jumped because the technology is finally getting better). And the amount of oil we will be able to produce will continually rise as the technology gets better.
And again, back to the topic, I love the food and anime. And talk about a good public transportation system Smile
