Let me tell you Taiwan food about tangyuan.
It is made of sticky rice with fillings such as sesame, or peanut butter, or red bean paste.
It's delicious.

I am a chinese. I'm always in a state of hunger. Dishes, snacks, tea. I sometimes feel shameful that I am only good at eating but cannot cook.
My brother is a cook. I like watching him cooking. He always tell that cooking is an art which needs the cook's full heart.

hi sunshine
jiao zi and the chinese hot pot is too ordinary in China because everybody can cook it.
But GuoChiaoMiXian is still a special dish because only the experts in Yunnan can cook.
And so it's a bit of mysterious and so of high value.
So the hot pot or the jiao zi can neither compete with GuoChiaoMiXian, nor a little. Laughing

Hey Mr.Admirl, Wink

its all about personal choice,i like ordinary dishes like jiaozi and hot pot, yeah, its too ordinary in china,

By the way iam not in Yunnan so i dont know about it ,may be i will ask to my colleagues to intorduce me a rest.where i can eat GuoChiaoMiXian,By the way ,is it like noodles ?Any way thanks for your information about a new chinese Dish Laughing (new for me)

Very Happy Yes it is like noodles.
MiXians are noodles made of rice.

The meanig of "Mi" is "rice" and the meaning of "Xian" is "line"

I like it very much. You have raw ricenoodles, raw flesh, raw fish, raw vegetables and you put it all into a boiling chicken broth made of a special receipe (it's different in each restaurant) and you wait some seconds till everything is done.

My special recommendation: Travel to Yunnan and taste it. Only there the GuoChiaoMiChian is traditional. Laughing

Laughing hey ,its what we call CHINESE HOT POT Here in Xian, its the same dish i love to eat every time wow its too spicy and yummy,We make it by the same way as u mentioned Very Happy Cool
Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing May be u dont know here in Xian GuoChiaoMiChian is traditional too. Wink Wink Wink

Chinese dim sum is the best. Everything else is just so-so because it's too oily to me.

I think the european food is much oilier than chinese food, for example the fast foods.

Fast food contains a lot of fats. It's unhealthy because of the fats and the carbohydrates, but it's NOT OILY. Chinese food is good, but it IS OILY. I didn't say it's bad. What I was trying to say is it's too oily that every time you finish a Chinese dish, your mouth would look like you've just had bunch of chapstick on. Laughing

[quote="arcana"] something they called "old chicken" (which apparently was just a chicken that had been killed when it was very old).

Laughing Are you just kidding? I think "old chicken" means a kind of chicken which was cooked for a long time so......
