Hi,

which preposition is correct?

this is an answer key to/for this exericse.

Hard work is (a/ the/ no article) key to success.

Which article (or none) should be used?

1) I think either is ok, but I would probably use for.

2) It is the key to success is most likely. This implies that it is the one key to being successful. In a specific context, such as listing various keys to success, a would be appropriate.

But why you use "..key to being succesful". Any different from "key to success."
