so it's like phoning over the internet? hmm... i can do that with my telephone, why should i need a website for that?

and it's not like google had that idea at first, there's the yahoo! instant messenger or msn, too, where you can talk or make even a video session.

greets Smile

you do pay for the internet, at least i do, i don't know how it's organized in china. i have a flatrate so i pay a certain amount of money every month and then i can surf in the internet as long as i want.
and of course, you certainly pay for the electricity charges, too. and phone is not that expensive that i'd prefer google or msn talk.
besides, Admiral is right, computers are very slow. mine shuts down all the time, too and because it's on the net there's a danger that it has worms or such things..

greets

I don't pay for my internet service, because my college dose it. In my college, all faculty use internet for free.

and in China, phone is very expensive, more expensive than it is in German. my sister had been in German for 3 years as a Visiting scholar. she told us that German's economy is better than China's, but German's phone fee is cheaper than China's.

Therefore, if I wanna call someone and wanna talk for a long time, I always first inform him via mobile phone, and we would log into Yahoo or Google at the same time. that way we don't have to pay for phone.
