He killed his daughter (which viewers were spared) and
then he killed her look-alike cousin, Maddie (which we weren't...
Why were the viewers *spared*?

| in this case, spared means that he did not kill the others who were in the same area as the others that he did kill...iitimone7 |

| Well, actually it is that the viewers were spared. It means that the killing of the daughter was not part of the show, so the viewers did not have to suffer by seeing it. Spared means prevented from suffering. |
