Korean's Family

Hi. My name is Ki-hoon Kwon. and call me David.

I live in Seoul, Korea. Do you know my country? I'm proud of my country except only one thing. It is confucianism. It started in China, by Confucius about 2000years ago.
and my country accepted it as a living rule long time ago. But it is alive in our life these days, too.
it says "man is better than woman." it also says "Be nice to the seniors."
I don't like this sentence. I can understand
this sentence. but "man is better than woman." cannot be right. This makes women feel infefior to man. Sons and daughters have to go with father's family name. Because i don't like my family name.
In general, there are four persons in one family these days. But confucianism says "Sons must stay with parents even after they got married. Or children must stay with parents up to when they got married" Is it right in these days?

Nevertheless, I love my country and i am so proud of being Korean.

Waiting for your replies.

in china, more and more people realize that man and woman is equal ,especially in big city. for most family, only one child is allow, so parents love their daughter or son very much. as for name, even some parentt give their child a dirrent name ,not from theis father's name because they want to their chind an independent personality. I am from Hong Kong. Hong Kong is more or less similar to Chinese family system. Man usually regards as the bread winner in the family. Man would like his girl friend or wife to be inferior to him. Therefore, there are many spinsters with good jobs and admirable income.
Because of the great influence of the western culture, the problem of inequality of man and woman is less severe. It is common that both husband and wife go to work to support the family. Housewives in Hong Kong are not common nowadays. Nevertheless, man still regards as the bread winner in the family. The main expenses in the family still fall on the man.
Company still prefers man to take the top position. Most people still think that woman is good at bringing up children and man is for decision making.
