What a night, nobody let me live it down.

cause something bad to be forgotten: to live in a blameless or commendable way long enough for something shameful to be forgotten

Could anyone make it more specific?

Thanks

It means that nobody lets you forget about something that happened that night. In the following days/weeks/months, they reminded you, joked about it, teased you, etc. They wanted to cause you embarrassment or get a reaction out of you.

It can be about something serious so that it takes people a long time to forgive you. But quite often, it's about something that, although embarrassing, is funny to both you and them. In an paradoxical way, it is a way that people show you that they like you. They know you can handle the teasing and will have interesting responses.

Ex. Everyone knows I take pride in my driving. When I got caught driving the wrong way on a one-way street, they didn't let me live that down for a long time.

Ex. Richard Nixon was the only U.S. president ever forced to resign his office in disgrace. Most people did not let him live that down for the rest of his life.
