...i have no idea!! i've never seen that before. maybe the speaker is just trying to emphasize the ring.
i'd say "does any of this ring a bell?"

Could it have been, "Does any of this... uh... ring a bell?"
The "uh" and pause could be meant to emphasize the question. One purpose would be to say, "Of course you must remember." |
