I feel It's easy to say "I don't like Bush"...almost everyone in this world is doing this...but I think his position isn't easy and all in all I like him!
Another US president would be the same about international politic! Do you really think if Bush wasn't USA President, USA would retreat from Iraq or Afghanistan?! Don't forget opposition in USA are with Bush about Iraq...They are United!
This is what I feel _________________ Alberto |

then maybe i don't like the US politicians at all..
no i can't say that. honestly, there were better and more competent presidents in the US before, in my opinion. i liked Bill Clinton for example, or F.D.Roosevelt, much more than Bush, although i should run for cover now because i don't know so much about their political actions, i was too young.

yes i think so. maybe the democrats agreed in invadin Iraq but maybe if Gore had been president, he would have done it in another way that didn't cost so many lifes. i don't know and i can't say that for sure, but it's possible.
probably i don't like Bush because i disagree in so many points with his actions and opinions.
see death penalty, where he is totally conservative and supports it.
and from what i've heard, he was very often in vacation in the first quarter if you're president of the US (or any state) you can't just go in vacation if you want.
then, his way of fighting the terror after 9/11/ .. it seems to me as if he was totally kidding the US people.
there are so many things he did or said i don't like.
i've seen a website of him, where all his slips of the tongue were listed - some are really shocking.. (see www.dubyaspeak.com )

Bush is no good Just be smart, ask and read. Don't get mixed up with ultra right- or left winged propaganda. Get you own opinion. Bush startet this war for his own hidden agenda. There were no MDW, there are also other dictators in this world. Why is he not attacking them? To this day I don't know how the american people could possibly reelect Bush.

Legality of the invasion
[edit]
U.S. law
Under the United States Constitution, presidents do not have authority to declare war. This power is granted exclusively to Congress, and there is no provision in the Constitution for its delegation, although under the War Powers Act of 1973, the president can send troops to a country without congress's consent for 60-90 days. As the Constitution is the supreme law of the land, it cannot be superseded except by amendment to itself. On October 3, 2002, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) submitted to the House International Relations committee a proposed declaration which read, "A state of war is declared to exist between the United States and the government of Iraq." It was rejected.[103] Citing several factors, including unresolved issues from the 1991 Gulf War, the Bush administration claimed intrinsic authority to engage Iraq militarily[104], and Congress delegated its war powers to the President[105]; from this point of view, the invasion of Iraq, while a war, may therefore be considered a police action commenced by the executive, like the Korean war.
Police action
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
A police action in military/security studies and international relations, is a military action undertaken without a formal declaration of war, often localized in scope.
Since the Second World War, numerous police actions have taken place under the auspices of the major-power nations; indeed, a declared war is an increasing rarity.
The term is frequently used in reference to certain 20th-century historical events: the military actions of the Netherlands, Britain, and other allies during the Indonesian National Revolution (1945-1949), as well as the Malayan Emergency (1948-1960).
The United States has launched all of its major armed conflicts since World War II as police actions. In these events, Congress had not made a formal declaration of war, yet the President, as the commander-in-chief, has claimed authority to send in the armed forces when he deemed necessary. Nonetheless, limited Congressional control has been asserted, in terms of funding appropriations.
The Korean War and the Vietnam War, strictly speaking, were not declared wars but police actions.
Declaration of war by the United States
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
A declaration of war by the United States is the statement of purpose traditionally requested by the President of the United States and granted by Congress to engage military force against another nation. Since World War II, the decision-making power of Congress to declare war has been voluntarily limited to issuing authorizations of force. The War Powers Resolution of 1973 (Public Law 93-148) limits the power of the President of the United States to wage war without the approval of the Congress. (See below.) The United States has formally declared war against foreign nations eleven separate times. |
