It's been quite a while since I went swimming.
It's been quite a while since I have been swimming.
It's been quite a while since I swam.
Could you tell me which one is correct?
Do they have the same meaning?
Thanks! |

They are all right. It depends on what the context is. What are you trying to say?
It's been quite a while since I went swimming.
It's been quite a while since I swam.
Meaning you have not been able to swim for a long time.
Example:
Person 1: I would love to go to the beach.
Person 2: Thats a great idea. Its been quite a while since I went swimming.
It's been quite a while since I have been swimming.
It's been quite a while since I've been swimming.
It means that you have been swimming, so that you haven't been able to do something else.
Example:
Person 1: Whens the last time you've had a cigarette?
Person 2: It's been quite a while since I have been swimming. I decided to give it up. |
