Recently, I heard about these two words " street smarts",
but I just couldn't figure it out.
Could somebody explain these words more deeply?
What's the meaning of "street smarts" ??   |

Hi,
Street Smarts is knowledge learned from experience about society and life (not through studying). Someone who always stayed home and studied in school with rich parents probably has no street smarts. A teenage who ran away (has no home now) will learn street smarts very quickly. The teenager has to learn what places in the city are bad, what people to be careful of, where the best places for sleeping and eating are, etc... There are many situations you can use it, but usually used for teenagers now. |
