"My husband will not go through his old LPs." I think there was a typo in that.
An LP was the precursor to today's music CD's. The LP stands for Long Player, and it was also called an album. It usually had 5 or 6 songs on each side. When one side was finished playing, you flipped it over to hear the other side. It was a thin vinyl disk, 10-12 inches in diameter, and you could see the band of grooves where each song was recorded.
They were also called records, and you played them on a record player (or phonograph). I bet you never saw one of them - except maybe in an old movie. |
