I agree. I would probably say, "The building is in the shape of a triangle." (Notice the "in," and don't ask me why it's there. Maybe someone else will know! .) |

Yes, the sentence should say
"Seen from this side, the building is (in) the shape of a triangle."
The word 'in" is not necessary, but it helps clarify ^^ |
