Hi, how are you?
When they mention a train journey, some say get to the destination "on the train," and some say "in the train." Which would you say? Which would you choose in the following?
[1] I rode (in, on) the super bullet train to Sendai.
[2] I switched my cell phone off when I rode (in, on) the train to Sendai.

I would say "on" for both of them. |

Yes, I speak and write in the way you mentioned; if you look at an action in the car of the train you are on in the mind's eye, you might more likely use in, might you not?
[3] I rode on a train to Sendai a few days ago. The intercom announcement repeated we should turn our mobiles off in the train.
