Dear Teachers,
What do you do in your free/spare time?
- I give my dog a wash / I wash my dog / I bath my dog.
- I read comic strip / strip cartoon / I read a comic/ I read comics.
- I write in my diary / I write my diary.
- I take my dogs out for a walk.
- I watch my old photos / old pictures again.
- I go to the bookstore/bookshop.
- I help my dad / daddy to pull grass in the garden.
- I iron my clothes / clothing in case theres no power / no electricity.
- Are the sentences above natural?
- Thanks a lot.

- I wash my dog / I bath(e?) my dog.
- I read comic strips / I read comics.
BUT a comic strip is usually in a newspaper (only a few boxes) while a comic is a book (like Superman, or Japanese manga)
- I write in my diary
- I take my dogs out for a walk.
- I look at my old photos / old pictures.
photos don't move, so you can't "watch" them
- I go to the bookstore/bookshop.
- I help my dad to pull the grass(weeds?) in the garden.
"Daddy" is only said by children
- I iron my clothes / clothing in case the power/electricity goes out.
Everything here is ok. Some other native speakers might have different opinions, this is just how I think |
