1. This chair is comfortable to sit on.
2. This chair is good to sit on.
Q. Do they have the same meaning?
3. While I was staying in Australia, I saw some interesting animals.
4. In my stay in Australia, I saw some interesting animals.
Q. Do they have the same meaning? (I think "During" is more often used than "In."
5. Going by car takes less time than by train.
6. Going by car takes shorter time than by train.
Q. Do they have the same meaning? (To me, "shorter" is incorrect. I dont know why, though...)

Question 1.
They could have the same meaning, but the second could also mean the location of the chair is good. That is, the chair's proximity to another object, such as a television.
Question 2.
Yes, they have the same meaning. However, "during" is more natural for #4.
Question 3.
In my opinion, #6 is incorrect. But, they do mean the same thing. |

Your message is very helpful to me.
...coluld I ask you one more question?
(Question1) Do they have the same meaning?
1. This chair is comfortable to sit on.
2. This chair is comfortable enough to sit on.
(Question 2) In the message before, you mentioned"To me, "shorter" is incorrect. I dont know why, though..." by which you mean what?
