This bothers me. I've heard "I'm from the streets" meaning that the person speaking grew up in an lousy inner-city neighborhood. (NO offense) I don't know which (in(on) the street(s)) is correct.

What do you use for the following cases:

1. I parked my car __ the street(s)?
2. There are many vagrants __ the street(s)?
3. There are many stores __ the street(s)?

Thanks. Wink

Singular or plural?

Sorry Smile
all are singular

1) is always singular
2) could be plural, example: There are many vagrants on Toronto's streets, but with your example, it is singular
3) I can't think of a reason I would ever use the plural (can anyone back me up or refute that)

Try these:

What do you use for the following cases:

1. I parked my car on the street.
2. There are many vagrants walking the streets.
3. There are many storefronts on that street.
