'The presidential candidate is telling everyone who'll listen that he thinks the decrease in the country's exports is deeply troubling.'
In the above article, I can't understand the meaning of 'troubling'.
I think it right to use 'troubling him' instead of 'troubling', but I'm not sure.
Can you teach me?
Thanks. |

Troubling is used to describe the effects caused by the country's exports.
The country's exports were troubling him, but that is not what the sentence was implying.
This setence is only saying that "the decrease in the country's exports" were "deeply troubling", but NOT weather or not they were troubling him. _________________ ab2146 |
