I have read a piece of news form BBC at http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/newsenglish/witn/2005/12/051214_aceh.shtml
At the end it said "But an event due to take place on Wednesday evening shows how much things have already changed in Aceh. "
I'm puzzled at the phrase "an event due to take place".
As I know, due to means because of. But if I replace "due to" with "because of", this phrase doesn't make sense. So, Please enlighten me how to explain it here.
