Quote:
Today, we're going to talk about 'what different place is famous for?'.

In the above, I wonder why the speaker used 'different place' instead of 'different places'.
Is 'different place' correct grammatically?
I think it a better sentence that "Today, we're going to talk about 'what different places are famous for?'" but I'm not sure.
I'm looking forward to your answer.

Thanks. Rolling Eyes

Either of two versions would be correct:

(for one place) "Today, we're going to talk about what a different place is famous for." (You're right about needing "a" before "different place")

(for more than one place) "Today, we're going to talk about what different places are famous for."
