Hey,
I am Martin, 23, studying in Los Angeles. I have long interest in European Country, I like France the most, and hoping to have a chance to live in there. I only speak Chinese and English, but plan to learn French. I don't know much about Europe, but I watch extensive traveling program, like Globe trekker, which I have almost 40 of them. Having been living in Los Angeles for 2 years, I've already experienced a polar difference of culture from the Eastern to the Western. Not until moving away from Hong Kong, I didn't know that Hong Kong is not that Eastern, where after the 100 years colonial governing by the British. Isn't that sound interesting to you, I think so too.
About my person, I like things in polar too. I listen to System of A Down, in which a group vocalize injustice and anger through hard rock music, but I also listen to Damien Rice, the Irish Singer of Blowers Daughter. I am a big movie fans too; my favorite is Eternal Sunshine of a spotless mind
I am just looking for someone who thinks similar to me, so write to me if you are.

Hi Martin,
too bad I only read this post of yours now. I was in Hong Kong last week and looking for some people to tour around, but now I already moved away from Hong Kong and find myself back in Beijing. I hope you had a good time there.

Hi Erwin,
Are you Taiwanese? I hope you enjoy your time in Hong Kong. Actually, I read your post while you were still in Hong Kong, and I tried to hook you up with my friends, but seemingly, they are not interested or too busy.
I forwarded your posting to two of friends, you didn't hear from them, didn't you? Anyways, are you studying in Dutch? I think it would be very interesting experience. I was hoping to make friends from Europe and trying to learn something from them. Hoping that one day I will be traveling to France, Italy, Spain, Greece, etc.
Possibly, you might have some questions about anything happened in your trip or people you met. I love culture; I can share some with you.
Cheers,
Martin |

Hi Martin, I live in Italy, and if you want, i'll tell you something about it.
We have a beautiful history (Roman Empire) and the food is great!
Italy is shared in twenty regions: Aosta, Piemonte, Veneto, Lombardia, Liguria, Trentino, Friuli, Emilia Romagna, Toscana, Lazio, Abruzzo, Umbria, Marche, Basilicata, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Calabria, Sicilia e Sardegna.
Each region has its speciality (food, traditions...) and dialects.
It's cool because wherever you go you can find many differents from your region.
A stereoype that other people give us... is that we are ALL Mafiosi (understand?).
It's not true... The Mafiosi are only in the south of Italy (calabria, sicilia, sardegna, campania...).
An other thing people think about us is that our life-stile is still the same of the fifties one. It's not true! We are in 2006 and we are like other people in the world.
Our politic is a chunky.... really...
our politicians (like Berlusconi) think only at themselves, they don't care of people, what they think, what they want... they promise beautiful things and people... fall. they vote them, and the situation doesn't change.
well... about people what can I say... it dipends on regions. In Liguria people are mean, for example, but not everyone. In other regions people are kind, in other ones are hateful...
I come from Piemonte (yeah, winter olympic games! ) and someone is friendly, someone is hateful.
Bye!
ps: if you want to know more things you only have to ask
ps2: i hope you will understand me! |
