Hi, there.

Today I would like to ask you about several questions at a time.

Question #1.
About negative imperative sentences.
Is it possible to say "Do not play soccer here" instead of "Don't play soccer here."?

Question #2.
About pronouns.
In answering the question "Who is that?", which pronoun is correct and why?
(A) That is Janet Brown.
(B) It is Janet Bronwn.
(C) She is Janet Brown.

Question #3.
About the difference between get up and wake up.
When you waken someone who is fast asleep, which do you use, "get up" or "wake up?"
What is the difference between these two phrases?

Question #4.
About the way to pronounce the date.
How do you pronounce this date: November 23.
(A) November twenty-three.
(B) November twenty-third.
(C) November the twenty-third.
Does it sound funny if we use (A)?

I am looking forward to your kind replies.

Thanks. Very Happy

Yes. do not = don't, except that "don't" is less formal

Question #2.
About pronouns.
In answering the question "Who is that?", which pronoun is correct and why?
(A) That is Janet Brown.
(B) It is Janet Bronwn.
(C) She is Janet Brown.
It depends on the context.

If I were introducing Janet to someone, I'd say "This is Janet Brown."

If someone asked who just telephoned the house (and Janet is the person who just called), I'd say "It is Janet Brown (on the phone)."

If I saw Janet from a distance, and someone asked who that person was, I'd say "That is Janet Brown" or "She is Janet Brown."

Question #3.
About the difference between get up and wake up.
When you waken someone who is fast asleep, which do you use, "get up" or "wake up?"
What is the difference between these two phrases?
I think of "get up" as get out of bed, and "wake up" as stop sleeping. It's possible to "wake up" without actually "getting up."

Question #4.
About the way to pronounce the date.
How do you pronounce this date: November 23.
(A) November twenty-three.
(B) November twenty-third.
(C) November the twenty-third.
Does it sound funny if we use (A)?

I use (B) (November 23rd). To me, (A) sounds a little funny but it's perfectly understandable.
