Does anyone know anything about Ariel Sharon? What did he do?
Why is he so important? How is his health now? What is his relation with Paletine?

He was (is?) the Prime Minister of Israel until he suffered a massive stroke a month or so ago. It is very unlikely that he will ever recover and be able to resume his duties as PM. Earlier in his career he was an officer in the Israeli army, fighting against the Palestinians.

Do a search on him and you'll find lots of interesting information on him, pro and con.
