I understand that "so...that" can be used in a sentence that contains indefinite articles with a singular noun.
But if I make a sentence like this:
"He is so good a boy that I like him." Is it possibly correct?
Or should "He is such a good boy that I like him." Better than the upper sentence? _________________ Snoopylover |

I think the second sentence ("...such a good boy...") is much easier to understand. |

Thanks Nef. But when I wrote the original question, I think the answer was quite strange.
Here's the original quiz:
Tom was ________ that he won the respect of every teacher who had taught him.
(A) a such good student
(B) a so good student
(C) such a good student
(D) so good a student
So if there's no such choice like "such a good student", can (B) possibly be correct? _________________ Snoopylover |

(C) such a good student
This seems to work just fine. |

| If there was no such choice as "such a good student", you could say "so good a student" but it`s not as correct. |
