Dear teachers,
Are both of the following constructions with "both" possible? If yes, would they have a different meaning?
1) Eric and I have been both learning and teaching languages for years.["both" applies here to "learning and teaching"?]
2) Eric and I have both been learning and teaching languages for years.["both" applies here to "Eric and I" or is it the same as (1)?]
Many thanks,
Hela |

| They are different, Hela, and mean exactly what you suggested. |
