Dear teachers:
Would you please tell me whether the sentence below is correct English?
"It is not permitted for employers to discriminate on grounds of age."
Can the verb "permit" be used in this way: "be permitted for smb to do smth"?
I would be very grateful for your answer.

Hi Valja,
Yes. Permit means to allow. You might want to say:
Employers are not permitted (allowed) to discriminate based on age.
Allowed in this case is more common.
