"Even in the Rose Bowl we knew what Oregon wanted to do, but when they would go on a long drive they'd get into the red zone and run out of real estate." What does real estate have to do with the Rose Bowl?

It refers to the playing field It sounds like he means they got to the 20 yard line and couldn't go the rest of the way and get a touch down
