"I have measured out my life with coffee spoons."
What does that imply?
Thanks |

I've never heard that one before.
Could it be that the person loves coffee - or is addicted to coffee.
Their life is quite dull, their job is mundane. The only highlight in their day, and the only thing they have to look forward to is the next cup of coffee.
They need a coffee to get them started in the morning, then they spend the rest of the morning looking forward to their 10.30 coffee break - then lunch, then afternoon break and so on.
It's only a guess. I'm interested to know if someone else knows more about this saying.

I've never heard of it either, and I agree with Brian as to a likely meaning. |

Sounds like a "literary device". What is the source of the quote?
A coffee spoon is rather small (smaller, perhaps than a teaspoon?)...
So, my guess would be that their life was measured out in very small doses. |

That's possible, Philo
Maybe the writer means they're not the sort of person who plans things far in advance, and only lives from day to day ... so the furthest they ever plan ahead is their next cup of coffee? After that, anyything can happen.
