Dear Teachers,

1.This moving story tells of great courage and faith.
-tell off means scold but what does tell of mean?

2.I am the lord, your God who takes hold of your right hand.
-Does take hold of mean keep?

3.Does Priest apply to both Catholic and Christian?

4.I feel this is the time to hit it hard and give my career everything Ive got.
-What does hit it hard mean here?

5.Its so important to live a well-balanced life.
-What does well-balanced life mean?

6.No matter how far apart you are, youll somehow wind up together.
-What does wind up mean here?

-Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

Hi Stevenukd

1. 'tells of' here means that the story is ABOUT. Tells of faith and courage - tells a story about faith and courage.

2. it means reaches out and holds (not really keeps though)

3. I think yes, but I'm not sure. Maybe you need to try Dave's religion cafe for that one!

4. hit it hard - in this sentence it means make a really big effort, give it your best effort.

5. A think a well-balanced life is a life that has the right amount of time spent on work, health, love and friendships. Everyone probably has their own idea of what makes a well-balanced life.

6. wind up means finish or end

Brian

3. Note that Christianity is a group of religions that includes the Catholics, the Methodists, the Baptists, the Lutherans, and probably many more. Most do not call their leaders Priests, but Reverends or Ministers. I think (but I'm not positive) that Catholic leaders are the only ones that are called Priests.

A priest is someone who performs religious ceremonies. There are Anglican Priests as well as Roman Catholic Priests. However, some religious leaders prefer other denominations than priest, as Bud has pointed out.

Incidentally, if God takes your hand hand it means he grasps it.
