I was baffled by the following sentence, especially the last part of it:we must confront the inevitability of our own demise, losing ourselves as it were, all that we were or dreamed to be.
Does the last part mean death is our dream or we dreamed we will. If all that we were means we belong naught? _________________ hope can be your longtime friend |

Neither, Woodymind.
It means that we are all mortal. We must face the fact that eventually we will lose all that we've become (when we die). We'll also lose our unfulfilled dreams, losing the chance to make them come true. |
