I saw the sentence as below:
Though nine out of 10 are rejects, that didn't soften the sting of the final email: " The members of Beautiful People did not find your profile attractive enough."
Can I change "rejects" into "rejected"?
Thanks. |

Hi wanderer,
Yes, rejects in the sentence is a noun. We don't use it often because it is not very flattering. We use it mostly in describing defective products. Rejected is a verb.
The assembly workers put the good toys in sealed plastic boxes. The rejects were placed in MRB (material review board).
The defective toys were rejected by the quality inspectors.
