'One has an hourly traveling schedul, the other doesn't own a watch.'
I've seen this sentence in a book. As I know, clauses have to be connected with conjunctions. So I think '...schedul and the other...' or '...schedul ; the other...' is a right form.
Please tell me about this. |

Good work. You are absolutely right. The sentence should be written in any one of the following ways:
One has an hourly traveling schedule; the other doesn't own a watch.
One has an hourly traveling schedule, and the other doesn't own a watch.
One has an hourly traveling schedule. The other doesn't own a watch.
However, in literary books, it is OK to play with grammar for dramatic effect. That is probably why the author has chosen the incorrect structure.
One has an hourly traveling schedule, the other doesn't own a watch.
Good luck. _________________ - Mike
