Dear teachers:

Is it correct to describe "5" as a single-digital value, "55" as a two-digital value, "555" as a three-digital value and so on?

Thanks.

Hi river1974,

Yes. You can also say them as:

5 is a single-digit (number, figure).
55 is a double-digit (number, figure).
555 is a triple-digit (number, figure).

When you get really high - for example; for the price of a house or extremely high income - you might say that it's a six-figure digit ($555,555).
