We want to go to the beach in his car on Saturday, because our car still won't (have been fixed/ be fixed).
(Question) The answer is"have been fixed, but to me "be fixed" also seem OK... What do you think?

Both are correct in a way.
The difference probably is that 'won't have been fixed' is the totally correct answer grammatically which your teacher/examiner will expect in tests and examinations.
The expression 'won't be fixed' is perfectly OK in colloquial/conversational English but probably not in examinations.
Many students who have spent time with native speakers, watched films/TV or spent time in an English-speaking country hear and learn conversational English. This is excellent for speaking the language and well worth doing.
However the majority, almost 100%, of native English speakers do not speak grammatically correct English in absolutely everything they say. Most of the time they do but here and there it's not quite so according to the rules. It would sound very formal and awkward if they did speak so grammatically correct.
For your written examinations you need to learn the grammatically correct answers!!!!! |
