Wojtek1:
It is the legal procedure by which jurors are chosen for a trial. It can often be very important to the outcome of the trial. If you find jurors that are likely to be in favor of your case, you have a much better chance of success.

Thank You for answer but is it only for chosing jurors? I have found a sentence like this: An aplication was made, in a vior dire procedure, on behalf of the defendants for the tape recorded evidence to be excluded under section 78 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 on the basis that it had been obtained unlawfully and in breach of Article 8 of the European Convetion on Human Rights. So maybe it is a procedure by which evidences are allowed in a cour of law?
The best. |

I am only familiar with the following definition:
Main Entry: voir dire
Pronunciation: 'vwr-'dir, 'wr-
Function: noun
Etymology: Anglo-French, from Old French, to speak the truth
: a preliminary examination to determine the competency of a witness or juror
But the procedure could be used differently by different courts. I think that you would need to ask a lawyer more familiar with the particular situation. Hope that helps.
