as a second language teacher what principles can guide us in the teaching of grammar?

teaching grammar is not easy as we think. Rules have to be memorised and most of the students are facing problems in this area.
Teachers should be more advance in teaching grammar because nowadays people are talking about teaching grammar in fun ways.This way would help the learners to attract in learning Grammar.
