Hello,

Is the following sentence correct?

An English club is a long expected offer for our area.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi Marlen,

I would change your sentence a bit, like this:

An English Club for our area is a long-expected offering.

or

An English Club for our area is a long-awaited offering.

I'm wondering if there are better ways to say this, but I'm not sure what meaning you're looking for. Do any of these fit what you want to say?

1. Students in our area have been waiting a long time for an English Club.

2. We have been waiting a long time for an English Club to be offered in our area.

> > > > >

If you believe an English Club is going to be offered, but it is taking a very long time you might use one of these:

1. We have long expected an English Club to be offered in our area.

2. The long-awaited English Club is finally going to be offered in our area.

If you'd like more help with this please give a bit more information about the circumstances and I'll be happy to try again. Smile
