A: I don't like hamburgers. B: Me, ______.
Which do you think is correct, either or neither? _________________ Thank you very much for your reply. |

Hi Teo,
At the risk of starting another controversy --
Me neither. (neither do I)

No controversy from me on this one, lotus.
I agree completely. |

Arrgh, I remember a controversy about this subject sometime last year
I do agree, "Me neither" is the best choice.
The "Me neither" phrase is kind of colloquial, since it uses an object pronoun instead of a subject pronoun. (No one would say "I neither" / "I either.")
However, if you want to say the full sentence, it's "I don't like hamburgers either." |

<I do agree, "Me neither" is the best choice.>
I'd agree too.
(Though I would omit the comma after "me".)

I agree too! Just last night, my student and I had a discussion about this. I couldn't honestly answer her then and there, but have done some research.
From what I can see, "Me either" sounds right, but isn't. It's just what so many of us are used to hearing. Just as "It is him." sounds more accurate than "It is he." |
