"I was born in 1980."
This sentence is passive. Is it right? I learned it was a passive sentence, but some of my professor were confused. One of them even told me "born" is an adjective. I couldn't belive what she said. I still think this is a passive sentence. What do you think about this?

Yes, it's passive. "Born" is the past participle of the verb, " to bear".
Obviously you cannot give birth to yourself. But you can bear children (if you're a woman) and in that case it's active. |

Yes, it's also an adjective "Born leader" ,for example, but we were talking about the sentence "I was born in 1980." |
