Dear Teachers,

1.Whats the difference between basket and close-woven basket?

2.Are chopping-board and chopping-block the same meaning?

3. a sink is used to wash our faces and wash the dishes, right?

4.Are bath, bath-tub, and tub the same meaning?

5.What do we call a device used to take rice out of the cooker? A rice spoon, right?

6.What do we call a device used very often to wash the floor? I dont mean vacuum cleaner.

Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

1.Whats the difference between basket and close-woven basket?

I'm not sure, but I would guess that a close-woven basket does not have many spaces, gaps, or holes.

2.Are chopping-board and chopping-block the same meaning?

The purpose is the same, but a chopping board can be small and portable. I think of a chopping block as being larger and heavier.

3. a sink is used to wash our faces and wash the dishes, right?
Right. (bathroom sink and kitchen sink)

4.Are bath, bath-tub, and tub the same meaning?
I think "bathtub" and "tub" are the same. "Bath" can be a little different. For instance, people can say "I need a bath" when they want to get clean. But someone who says "I need a bathtub" probably will have to go shopping for a new bathtub! Smile On the other hand, "in the bathtub," 'in the tub" and "in the bath" all have similar meanings.

5.What do we call a device used to take rice out of the cooker? A rice spoon, right?
Maybe. A big spoon? A ladle?

6.What do we call a device used very often to wash the floor? I dont mean vacuum cleaner.
mop (if someone is cleaning with water)
broom (to sweep dry floors)
