I'm a student. I have realized the pressures of being a student. The main work of a student is studying. Everyoe wants to learn well but it is not easy to do. Because of a student must learn many subjects in school. Every subject is very difficult. Everybody has to study it very hard. The most important to a student is the examination. It can test a student's ability to the subject. If someone doesn't work hard he will fail the examination. After the examinaton the students will get their results. Some of them will get the perfect results but some ones will got terrible results. The students who get the perfect results will compete with each other. Everyone wants to do better than others. The must work harder. They have to spend more time in studying. The students who get the terrible results must find a good way to learn better. If they can't follow the other students they will fail the next examination. All of these are the pressures of being a student.

Well, you can always become a truck driver. The country will come to a standstill in a week, if it has no truck drivers, but it will continue much longer without teachers, social workers, doctors, etc...

Also, after you become a truck driver, chances are you can't wait to be back to school again. Laughing

From my own experience, I have to agree that most Asian education systems are pretty messed up though.

Hai!
I agree with you that studying give us a lot of pressure especially in tertier level. But that what students like us have to face. Most of our times are spent to study, doing assignments, worrying about exam and so on. For me, studying should be fun, not giving us pressure. What pressures us a lot is exam. Most of us actually study for exam only. We dont care about what are the things we actually study. All we know are we wanted to pass the exam or to get a better result than before. We must change this so the pressure is less. In order to do so, may be we should change our purpose to study. Study for the sake of knowledge. It is the best reason to study. We shouldnt make our study as exam-oriented.
ok that is all.bye

Well, I think your opinion is quite similar with me. I also think that, its depends on ourselves to make the study fun or pressure. If we just think that study is important for our exam, we might think that our result is the end of the lesson. If we get best result, thats it. No more further study on that subject. For me, we should not judge students base on their result, we should consider also their interest and what they are good into. If they good in art, parents should encourage their child to study on that. Different people actually have different ability in doing something. Im lucky because my parents support me a lot. I dont really good in chemistry but my parents dont blame on me at all. At the same time, they know that Im good in art so, now Im studying art for my major. What the important thing are we as a student must know our own ability so that we can have our own goal in doing something. Dont just follow what the others do. Sometimes we have to have our own principle. Its our life so, life it up with our own style. Its all depends on yourself. Smile

i agreed with you that we shouldnt follow what others say about us. just do what we want to do. but the society always judge on our result and what we are majoring in. nowadays, science and technology subject more important than other subjects. even the job market is now looking for person who expert in that subject. that is why some times i wonder how can i get a job after i graduate. that's what pressure me most. Crying or Very sad

In fact surveys done in North America show that the majority of truck drivers
are "very", or "somewhat" happy at their work. And, let's face it - not everyone wants to be stuck in an office all day.
Currently, there is a shortage of truck drivers in North America, and they are increasingly well-paid.
Taken to its logical conclusion - if everyone has a university degree, their value will be debased.
You will need a degree to get even a menial job.

Many people think students are very happy because they donot have to worry about the jobs and money, they have to study well only. In fact, many more students become depressed. They spend much time doing their homework and almost have no time for fun. The students have pressure not only form their parents but also from the schools and society. The pressure of being a student become heavier because the student must spend all his/her time studying in order to be successful in the future.

As the development of society, the education become more important, the degree becomes a key to get a good job. If you dont have a high degree, you nearly cant stand in the society. So the students have heavier pressure than past. In China when the children enter the school gate, it means you have heaver pressure. Parents ask their children must be good at study, they always say, if you dont hard to study, you are very sorry to us! The students have to compete with others, because the teachers will publish the last ones name or tell the parents how terrible you are study in school. The newspaper report: more students killed themselves because of the pressure of study. Now how to save this problem should be worth to considered.

A good job?
Do you mean a job that pays a lot of money?

Is Chinese society is becoming as materialistic as all the other capitalist societies?

If so let me advise you that having money does not mean you will be happy.

In The Netherlands, everything is different. Students have a real great time and have plenty of time for themselves. There is almost no competition among each other, more brothership. Students go out together a lot and drink a lot and don't worry about time or money. Everybody says that their student time was their best time of their life.

As a student, we have to face many pressures from all aspects, such as our families, our teachers, the society and the other students. Sad When it was time for us to go to school, we did not have any happiness. We had many tests and much homework. However, the most significant factor is the heavy pressure we should face. Foe example, our parents and teachers always tell us to study hard and not to spend any time in watching TV or playing. Sad As a result, we can only spend our time on our study. Sad Whats more, because of the pressures some students even commit suicide in order to make themselves free. In short, it is not difficult to reach a conclusion that students should face too many pressures from all aspects. I think that we should find a way to solve this problem. Smile
