Hi sbkaty,
Grammatically speaking, I think in the first sentence "where", in the clause, functions as an adverbial of place, and the subject for the clause is "it".
While in the second one, "which" is used as a subject in the clause. Since they have different functions in clauses, they can not be used interactively.  |
